Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

Bower Facilities Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 for our UK operations.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline Year: 2024

As a small but growing facilities maintenance and civil works provider, 2024 is our first formal reporting year. We are working Baseline Emissions (2024):

Scope 1 (Direct emissions - company vehicles, fuel use): 15.2 tCO2e

Scope 2 (Indirect emissions - purchased electricity): 3.8 tCO2e

Scope 3 (Business travel, waste, supply chain - estimated): 25.6 tCO2e

Total Baseline Emissions: 44.6 tCO2e

Current Emissions Reporting

Reporting Year: 2025

Scope 1 (Direct emissions - company vehicles, fuel use): 13.7 tCO2e

Scope 2 (Indirect emissions - purchased electricity): 3.1 tCO2e

Scope 3 (Business travel, waste, supply chain - estimated): 24.0 tCO2e

Total Current Emissions: 40.8 tCO2e

Carbon Reduction Targets

Bower Facilities Ltd aims to achieve Net Zero by 2050 through:

- Reducing overall emissions by at least 25% by 2030 (against our 2024 baseline)

- Transitioning to a low-emission fleet, with at least 50% of company vehicles electric or hybrid by 2030

- Sourcing 100% renewable electricity for our operations by 2026

- Engaging suppliers to align with carbon reduction objectives

- Continual investment in sustainable equipment and eco-friendly cleaning methods

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

- Investment in electric vehicles and equipment, reducing Scope 1 emissions

- Water-efficient cleaning systems to minimise environmental impact

- Use of eco-friendly chemicals and low-pressure cleaning where feasible

- Encouraging remote working and efficient route planning to reduce travel

- Sustainable waste management with full recycling of construction and operational waste

Planned Carbon Reduction Initiatives

- Complete transition to 100% renewable electricity by 2026

- Expansion of electric and hybrid vehicle fleet

- Ongoing training for staff in sustainable practices

- Supplier engagement to reduce Scope 3 emissions across the value chain

- Participation in local sustainability and carbon reduction programmes

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with Procurement Policy Note 06/21 and associated guidance.
